On June 21st, 2023, Christian Plaza, PMHNP, FNP-C delivered a 3-hour presentation at Mount Saint Mary College's newly constructed Desmond Center for Community Engagement & Wellness. His presentation was titled "Health Equity Talks: Health Disparities in the LGBTQ+ Community."
The discussion focused on identifying and clarifying the health disparities faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Orange County. These contemporary healthcare concerns involved utilizing primary care and preventative medicine lenses to understand the limited access to healthcare this community faces daily.
We would like to thank the Executive Director of the Orange County Government Human Rights Commission, Inaudy Gil, for sponsoring the presentation. We would also like to thank the Executive Director of the Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness, Genesis Ramos, for providing such s wonderful space to have our presentation in.
